Integrated Information System for the Digitalization of the Energy Sector

Digital transformation in the public sector requires reliable information systems that can support formal procedures, institutional responsibilities and secure communication with external users. In the energy sector, where data collection, reporting and regulatory processes are closely connected with market development and European integration, such systems play an important role in strengthening administrative capacity and improving the quality of institutional work.

Within this project, an integrated information system was developed and implemented for the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia. The system included an internal web application for Agency staff, an external web application with web services for communication with users and other systems, and a public portal for presenting relevant information and services. In addition to software development, the project included training for Agency employees, ensuring that the new system could be effectively adopted and used in everyday institutional practice.

The project contributed to the modernization of administrative processes in the energy sector by supporting electronic submission and processing of requests, improving data collection and analysis, and creating a stronger foundation for further integration with eGovernment services. Its importance lies not only in the development of individual software modules, but in the establishment of a coordinated digital framework that connects internal procedures, external communication and public access to information.

The project, “Support to Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AERS) for Energy market and network infrastructure data collection and analysis”, was financed from the EU’s IPA Accession Funds program.
