Support to Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia for Energy market and network infrastructure data collection and analysis

The project “Support to Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia for Energy market and network infrastructure data collection and analysis” aims to enhance the capacities of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia through the development and implementation of new information systems. This project is part of the program “IPA 2018/041-249/2/Serbia/European Integration facility – Indirect management,” designed to support Serbia on its path towards EU accession.

The main goals of the project included:

  • Development of new information systems: Creating external and internal information systems that will enable more efficient collection and analysis of energy market and infrastructure data.
  • Strengthening legislative frameworks: Improving the legal framework in line with EU standards to facilitate the implementation of EU directives and regulations in the energy sector.
  • Increasing public sector capacities: Enhancing the capacities of the Energy Agency and other relevant institutions through training and technical support, enabling more efficient and effective regulation of the energy sector.

Key project activities:

  • Development of software solutions: Designing and implementing software tools for data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Staff training: Educating employees at the Energy Agency and other relevant institutions to ensure the proper use of new systems and tools.
  • Increasing transparency: Improving access to information about the energy market for all relevant stakeholders, including decision-makers, industry participants, and the general public.

Project results:

At the closing event held on July 8, 2024, the project’s achieved results were presented. This event brought together representatives from all participating institutions who shared their experiences and achievements during the project implementation. The project team highlighted the importance of these activities for the future development of Serbia’s energy sector and for fulfilling obligations towards the European Union.

The project represents a significant step forward for the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia and the entire energy sector of the country, contributing to the modernization of infrastructure and raising standards to the level of those in the EU.
