The round table “Society 5.0 to better shape our aging society” was organized by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Serbia and the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
The round table was chaired by Professor Yuko Harayama of Tohoku University, Japan, who gained considerable experience in this field by working for the Science and Technology Council and as the Deputy Director of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Directorate of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development of Japan.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Djunići Maruyama, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, directors of the Science and Innovation Fund, deans of technical faculties, director of the Innovation Center School of Electrical Engineering, directors of institutes, science and technology parks Belgrade and Čačak, as well as large IT companies.
The round table presented the concept of “Society 5.0”, which is part of the Government of Japan’s strategic program. “Society 5.0” is an advanced society that addresses a variety of societal challenges using modern technologies (IoT, AI, Big data, robotics) focusing on the individual.
ICEF has many years of experience in implementing projects that are focused on the most advanced technologies and industry 4.0. Being introduced to the concept of “Society 5.0”, ICEF plans to direct future development towards the use of modern technologies to ensure a quality life for each individual.
