Three new Laboratories of the Innovation Center of ETF

Today, the Innovation Center of the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade presented the work of new laboratories for virtual reality, eHealth and biomedical engineering and industrial automation and process management.

The opening of the Laboratory was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Director of the Regional Office of the European Investment Bank for the Western Balkans Dubravka Negre.

The Public Investment Management Office enabled the procurement of equipment worth EUR 668,000 from a loan from the European Investment Bank and Development Bank of the Council of Europe. The use of the obtained equipment in the new Laboratories will enable the launch of new projects based on virtual reality, artificial intelligence, biomedical engineering, industrial automation, and other modern technologies.

“The Innovation Center was founded 14 years ago as a center that brings together science, economy and education, and the equipment we received will enable us to further improve our work. We have hard-working and talented researchers and students, some of which will lead successful companies tomorrow, cooperate with the world’s leading universities, and, beginning today, they will be able to further improve and develop within our laboratories. The laboratories are at their disposal and will be used for the development of science, scientific research and studies, cooperation with industry, as well as for education, “said Ilija Radovanović, a representative of the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade.

During the opening, new sensor systems for movement analysis, monitoring of eye movements, brain and muscle activity, vital signs and more were presented. In addition, the movement in the virtual 3D world on the example of the building of the School of Electrical Engineering was presented, as well as the latest results in the field of industrial automation.
